Mr.
and Mrs. Humberto and Graciela Sanchez are the current proprietors of
El Indio Tortilleria Inc. They came to this country in 1971
(respectively) and worked very hard throughout that initial year. It
was a difficult transition for many reasons one being that they were
both Lawyers in their country of Morelia, Michoacán which is located
in the central region of Mexico. It was like starting all over for
them, but they have always met challenges head on. It was around 1972
that Mr. Sanchez found an employment with the original owners of this
establishment, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar and Irene Romos, and began that new
journey. Mr. Romos, after having served in WW II, established El
Indio Tortilleria in 1948 and for several decades, through hard
work, was able to root the company into a small but growing industry.
By 1979, Romo/Sanchez had integrated some good ideas to lift the
overall prestige of the company, however, it took a great deal of hard
work and sacrifice to obtain the success that eventually came. From
1979-1985 Sanchez/Romo were able to consolidate such a great working
relationship that it eventually led to Mr. Sanchez in becoming the
sole proprietor of El Indio Tortilleria Inc in 1985. It had
always been Mrs. Sanchez’s idea to bring the Company location to
Orange County and specifically to Santa Ana; so, 2001 it was moved
from Los Angeles and relocated to Orange County where it has thrived
for the last 10 years. Success hasn’t come easy for Mr. Sanchez, but
his perseverance and belief in quality of product and service have
proven to be an effective formula for his achievement.
 
The
Sanchez Family was also able to open a small restaurant in front of
their location and bring in yet another facet to the company that they
had always envisioned. Their two sons, Humberto and David, have become
integrated into the business and hope that they continue the long
standing success of the business. With their new ideas and hard work,
the growth of the company will continue to be realized and secured for

Humberto y Graciela Sanchez Propietarios de esta empresa lograda
atravez de los años con mucho esfuerso y dedicacion, originarios de
Morelia y Ciudad Hidalgo ambos en el estado de Michoacán en la parte
central de la Republica Mexicana lugares que dejamos en un dia 18 de
diciembre del año 1971 en busca de una oportunidad y decidimos radicar
en los Estados Unidos de America, específicamente el estado de
California. Una vez ya establecidos Humberto empezo a trabajar para
esta tortilleria en el año de 1972 de la cual eran propietarios y
fundadores los señores Oscar e Irene Romo quienes iniciaron
operaciones en el año de 1948 despues de terminada la II guerra
mundial en la que participo el señor Romo, hombre acostumbrado al
trabajo fuerte. Ya integrado el equipo Romo/Sanchez con buenas ideas y
mucho trabajo se logro obtener buen prestigio y crecer en el mercado
de la tortilla logrando buen éxito. Entre los años 1979 al 1985 se
consolido grandemente la amistad en lo que Romo y Sanchez fueron
socios en la coorpopracion que formaron terminando la relacion de
trabajo en el año de 1985 en el que Mr. Romo decidio retirarse dejando
a su socio en el control total.
Recordamos
Graciela y yo que aquí empezo la segunda parte pues siempre fue
nuestro mayor deseo traer el negocio de los Angeles al Condado de
Orange específicamente a Santa Ana a servir a nuestra comunidad,
empresa nada facil pero como todo un reto mas que logramos en el año
2000 en que empezamos el movimiento de nuestra tortilleria que
logramos establecer en mayo del año 2001 y hata la fecha hemos crecido
afreciendo como siempre lo mejor de nosotros para servir con la mejor
tortilla del mercado y ahora nuestra comida de tipo casero con las
recetas de nuestros padres y familia en Michoacán Mexico lo que nos ha
colocado en preferencia de mucha clientela a mas del servicio a
restaurantes que es nuestra especialidad.
En nuestro
matrimonio procreamos dos hijos que son nuestro orgullo David y
Humberto Sanchez, actuales administradores quienes con ideas frescas
haran de este pequeño sueno un gran realidad. De nuestro equipo humano
de trabajo estamos muy orgullosos pues algunos han participado con
nosotros gran parte de la historia de los que mencionare:
Solo algunos los mas antiguos Rafael Venegas, William Presuel, Jose
Meneces. Manuel Salazar y Carmen Franco trabajadores estos que juntos
con los nuevos garantizan los productos de esta tortilleria.
